Roshi and Bulma gather their injured, and the bodies of their deceased friends, and set off to the hospital (due to korin being out of senzu beans at the moment). Krillin informs them that Kami and Piccolo were Namekian,and that the planet Namek should have more inhabitants able to create dragon balls.
After brainstorming on how to get there in a reasonable amount of time, they realize that Nappa's space pod is still a working vessel and that they could use that. Krillin presents Bulma with a ship controller that Vegeta dropped. Bulma decides to run it through some tests and see if it's still viable.
Goku, Krillin,Chi Chi, and Gohan are in the hospital recovering from the battle with Vegeta. Their friends and family come visit. When the television is turned on, they see a report about Nappa's space pod. Bulma presses a button on the spaceship's remote control which she thinks will summon it to them, but instead it self-destructs the pod. Before everyone gives up hope, Mr. Popo arrives, and tells them that he knows of another spaceship on Yunzabit Heights.
It's the Namekian ship that Kami used to come to earth when he was a boy. Bulma reluctantly agrees to inspect it up in Yunzabit Heights with him. They realize the craft is voice-activated in the native Namekian language. Later, Bulma takes the ship back to Capsule Corp and converts the language to the Universal Language.
And in a few weeks,learns how to use the ship.
When Bulma returns to the Hospital to tell them the ship is finished, Gohan and Krillin decide to accompany her on the mission to Namek. Chi Chi tries to talk Gohan out of it, but fails. Chi Chi gives up and pleads for him to stay safe.
While on their month-long journey to Namek, Gohan and Krillin practice image training.
Meanwhile, Vegeta has landed on Planet Frieza No. 79, and after being healed from the injuries sustained on Earth, Kui tells him Frieza is currently on Namek attempting to retrieve the dragon balls. Vegeta is incensed and decides to chase Frieza to Namek to try to use the dragon balls for himself.
After 30 days aboard Kami's old spaceship, Bulma, Krillin, and Gohan arrive on Namek.
Bulma uses her radar and notices that four of the seven dragon balls are together already. Gohan senses an evil presence, but Bulma is more optimistic and believes that the Namekians probably are the ones who have them.
They notice Vegeta's space pod fly overhead and land in the distance, along with a second space pod shortly thereafter.
Vegeta is not too thrilled to find out that Frieza's henchmen Zarbon and Dodoria are accompanying their Master.
Frieza continues to collect the Namekian dragon balls, while Vegeta slaughters Kui when confronted by him.
Meanwhile, Krillin and Gohan battle more of Frieza's minions, but not before they destroy the spaceship they used to reach the planet.
Back on Earth, Master Roshi delivers some bad news he got from Bulma (vegeta on namek, the busted ship,and frieza).
Goku and Chi Chi are shocked. Yajirobe delivers Korin's new batch of Senzu beans to Goku at the hospital.
After eating one of the beans, making a complete recovery from his injuries in the process, Goku immediately prepares to journey towards Planet Namek. Chi Chi volunteers to join him,to save her baby boy, Gohan. Goku reluctantly agrees to let her come. Chi Chi eats a Senzu Bean and regains her health.
Chi Chi decides to wear the Special Gi that she made,but never got a chance to wear. It's just like Goku's,except lacks an undershirt and is purple with orange belt and armbands. There is no footwear with this outfit,so Chi Chi decides to wear sandals until the battle starts.
Back on Namek,Bulma,Gohan,and Krillin have moved from their busted ship to find safety. Krillin senses Frieza and his Men on the move. The trio hide in a near by cave. Bulma finds that Frieza has 4 of the Dragon Balls and is headed for a 5th. Gohan and Krillin decide to follow the villains.
Our heroes follow The Frieza Force to a Namekian Village. They watch the events from a nearby cliff and surpress their power,so that they won't get noticed.
Back on Earth,Goku and Chi-Chi arrive at the Capsule Corporation, where Bulma's father Dr. Briefs has prepared a spaceship for them to travel to Namek in six days, and which also contains sophisticated battle training equipment, the most of important of which is an artificial gravity device which allows for increasing the gravity in the ship up to 100-times Earth gravity. Once the ship launches,Goku and Chi Chi begin training. They decide to train at 10-times Earth's gravity (for chi chi's sake).
Meanwhile, the Namekians begin to fight back against Frieza's men, however Dodoria proves too powerful. Discovering that their people are being located via their scouters, the Namekian Elder destroys the scouters.
Dodoria kills the Elder and is about to kill a Namekian Child. Gohan and Krillin save the boy and is chased by Dodoria. Dodoria losses them (thanks to a solar flare by krillin) and then is shot down by Vegeta.
Dodoria reveals that Frieza destroyed Planet Vegeta out of fear of the Saiyan. Vegeta kills Dodoria afterwards. Krillin and Gohan return to their new camp site,with the Nemekian Child in tow. They see that a capsule house has been set up inside the cave. Bulma comes rushing out capsule house to give our heroes some good news: Goku and Chi Chi are on their way to Namek on a ship that her dad made and are training while they're traveling. AND that they'll be on Namek in just 5 days. The news exites both Gohan and Krillin. The Nemekian Child thanks our heroes and gives them his name: Dende.
Meanwhile,Vegeta finds a Namekian Village. The Namekians try to resist,but the Saiyan Prince is too much for them and kills the them. He finds the Dragon Ball and hides it so Frieza can't find it. During their Training,Goku and Chi Chi are contacted by King Kai,who is now training their dead friends. He also warns them about Frieza.
After sensing the carnage done by Vegeta, Krillin and Dende decide to seek advice from Guru,the Grand Elder. Gohan stays with Bulma, who decided to ditch her boots and go barefoot (her feet were killing her after walking from her ship to the current camp site. Bulma's toenails were painted pink,like her fingernails.).
On The Spaceship to Namek,Goku and Chi Chi are training hard. After mastering 10x Gravity, they move up to 20x. Chi Chi decides to train Barefoot, Goku questions this, but decides "whatever". Chi Chi informs Goku that women who train barefoot become more efficient fighters.
Krillin and Dende arrive at Guru's place and are greeted by Nail (a perfect double of Piccolo). Krillin learns of the plight of Namek And eventually the Origins of Piccolo and Kami. Krillin is given a Power Boost by the Grand Elder,as well as his Dragon Ball.
Vegeta is found by Zarbon and they battle.When Zarbon Transforms, he beats Vegeta.
Thinking he's dead,Zarbon leaves. He is later chewed out by Frieza for doing so, suspecting that Vegeta has a Dragon Ball. After Frieza calls for the Ginyu Force he sends Zarbon to fetch Vegeta, so that he can get info about his Dragon Ball. Zarbon finds Vegeta and heals him back at Frieza's ship.
Meanwhile, Goku and Chi Chi have amped up their Training to 40x Gravity. Goku is impressed that Chi Chi is doing very well in their Gravity training. Chi Chi tells Gohan that she will save her son and she's gonna do what ever it takes to destroy those who harm her son.
Bulma (still barefoot) picks up Vegeta's Dragon Ball on her Dragon Radar and sends Gohan to Get it.
Meanwhile, Vegeta is healed and after outsmarting Frieza and Co.,he finds and Steals Friezas Dragon Balls (by throwing them out the window..very far). Vegeta escapes and finds the stolen balls on the island. He sees Krillin with a Dragon Ball and follows him. Zerbon tails Vegeta
Krillin arrives. Vegeta appears and wants the Dragon Ball. Zarbon arrives and he and Vegeta fight.
After Killing Zarbon, Vegeta demands the Dragon Ball from Krillin. Feeling helpless,Krillin gives the Ball to Vegeta. The Saiyan Prince leaves with his new prize. Gohan arrives at the devistated village and eventually finds Vegeta's Ball.
Gohan heads back to Camp, but runs into Vegeta. Thanfully, Gohan hid the Dragon Ball before the confrontation began.
Vegeta returns to the Village he attacked to get his Ball, but finds that it's gone.
He realizes that Gohan must've stolen it. Enraged,Vegeta heads back to the heroes camp However they are gone. After finding a new Campsite, Krillin takes Gohan to see Grand Elder Guru for a Power Boost,while Bulma(still barefoot) looks after the Dragon Ball.
Back on the Capsule Ship, Goku and Chi Chi are training at 100x Gravity.
Chi Chi is hanging strong. After training,the 2 decide to get something to eat and rest. Goku even massages Chi Chi's feet before they go to sleep.
Back on Namek, Vegeta catches up with Krillin,while Gohan gets his Power-Up from the Elder. Vegeta goes to the Elders house to confront Gohan. He is met with the Kid and Nail.
Guru tells Dende to warn everyone about an incoming threat. Dende tells them about it and Vegeta realizes that Frieza has sent for his Ginyu Force.
Vegeta comes up with a plan for Victory: Use the Dragon Balls to make himself immortal. Krillin hates the Idea. Nail mentions that the Namek Balls can grant 3 wishes.
Krillin reluctantly and hesitantly go with Vegeta's plan. And So, Vegeta and The Z Fighters forge an uneasy alliance. After retrieving the Heroes Dragon Ball, the 3 fighters leave for Vegeta's campsite (where the rest of the Dragon Balls are). They arrive at Vegeta's Camp site and encounter the Ginyu Force.
After The Ginyu Force steal Krillin and Vegeta's Dragon Balls,Captain Ginyu takes The Balls back to Frieza.
The rest of the Force battle Vegeta and The Z Fighters. Guldo is defeated,but Recoome beats the Protagonists. Meanwhile, Frieza has trouble summoning the Dragon, so he seeks out the Grand Elder for answers. Captain Ginyu guards the balls.
Just as Recoome is about to kill the 3 protagonists, Goku and Chi Chi arrive. Chi Chi is wearing her custom turtle school outfit (purple gi with orange belt and wristbands) and some sandals. After giving Gohan, Krillin,and Vegeta Sensu Beans, Goku defeats Recoome. Vegeta thinks Goku may be a Super Saiyan. Once Goku defeats Burter, Jeice flees in fear.
